Fertilization Program
Why We're Better
Our approach to fertilizing is quite different from your conventional fertilizing companies.
The first and most obvious difference is our fertilizers are organic versus man-made chemicals. Many of the artificial fertilizers are too harsh for your lawn which can cause your lawn to burn not to mention the fact that they have also been proven to cause cancer and spoil the ground and waterways. Man-made pesticides and herbicides not only contaminate your natural surroundings, but while they may kill off unwanted bugs and weeds they also kill off the good micro-organisms and insects that make your lawns and gardens thrive naturally.
In short, conventional fertilizing programs adress the symptoms and not the disease, and they are short term, poor solutions. Imagine giving your children a candy bar everytime they are hungry. It may satisfy them for the short time their bodies are consuming those carbohydrates, but it does nothing to nourish growth and sustain good health in the long term. In fact, a diet of cany bars with all the sugar and preservatives would even cause illness. This is what you are doing to your lawn when you apply artificial fertilizers!
Conversely, we go right to the source of your lawn's good health - the soil and root systems. By putting the soil in correct ph balance, encourage microbial activity, and adding natural sources of nitrogen, potasium and phosphorous, your lawn will grow deep roots that will sustain it and keep it green during droughts while your neighbors' lawns are browning out.
If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact us. Below you will find a brief outline of our basic program. First we take a soil sample from your lawn. Based upon the results of the soil sample, we then perform any combination of the following:
1) Aeration (preferably topdressed with organic compost and reseeded)
2) Lime (applied only after a soil test is done to be sure if needed and proper lbs. per square ft.)
3) Pre-emergent Weed Killer (100% organic - made of corn gluten. Also adds nutrients)
4) 1 or 2 spring applications (depending upon season)
5) Nematodes (a small worm that will eat harmful insects in your lawn. Only applied when needed)
6) Fall application.
